A well tested “Zambian” curriculum is followed at Chalo Trust School Primary section that emphases the mastery of the “Three Rs”- reading, writing and arithmetic. Pupils cover the Zambia Primary Course in its entirety. The main objectives of the primary section are:
1. To provide a first class primary education to children of all backgrounds within and outside the country, which will enable them to transfer with easy to secondary schools of choice either within Zambia or abroad.
2. To feed into CTS secondary school pupils that are prepared with strong ethical and Christian values and strong leadership qualities.
3. To offer an academically stimulating programme that will enhance the social, emotional, moral and physical growth of its pupils, thus preparing them to be world citizens in the 21st century and free of prejudices of race, culture, social background and religion.
4. To strive for excellence in all that it undertakes to do and, by maintaining strong links with other primary schools through such organizations as the Independent Schools’ Association of Zambia (ISAZ) to ensure the cross fertilization of ideals and maintenance of standards.
5. To educate the “whole child” and to pursue a high quality of education, not only in academic areas but also in artistic, cultural and sporting fields.
The primary curriculum at CTS incorporates subjects in 6 recommended Learning Areas namely:

6. Community Studies
A sixth Learning Area, called Community Studies focuses on localized Curriculum to support the Ministry of Education requirement that 20% of the curriculum should be oriented towards issues of local community concerns.
TRAINING IN MORALITY
All pupils are exposed to a compulsory course in moral issues and cultural aspects of the Zambian situation. In this course pupils discover about acceptable conduct in their daily life both in and outside school; they learn about respect for elders, respect for other people and responsibility roles in different settings including home, work, school , church and among peers.

Games and physical education...
Physical education will be taught as part of the curriculum during morning sessions. The school will establish excellent sporting facilities with a full-sized soccer pitch, a tarmac netball court, There will also be a tennis courts, a basketball pitch and volleyball pitches.
CTS secondary school section is well known for its sporting achievements and, in recent years, has won inter-school events at soccer, cross-country and athletics. It is envisaged that the primary school will be modeled to do the same. The annual inter- house athletics and Cross country competitions are very popular with parents and children alike.
EXTRA-CURRICULUM ACTIVITIES
An extensive program of extra –curriculum activities is offered to the primary pupils in the afternoon to pupils from grade 3 upwards. Planned activities vary from the sporting to the artistic to the academic. Sporting activities include swimming, football, netball, tennis, volleyball, basketball and table tennis. Attendance in the afternoon is voluntary but all children are encouraged to avail themselves to at least two of the offered activities.
