Thank you for the interest you have shown in CTS Pre-university College. CTS Pre-University College (CTS) is a private independent college, and part of Chalo Trust School Limited and a member of ISAZ and registered with the Ministry of Education and TEVETA.
While CTS - Primary Section caters for learners from Reception to 7, the Secondary Section caters for learners from Grade 8- 12, the CTS Pre-University College is a Centre offering Cambridge University International Examinations including AS/A-Levels and International Diplomas. It is registered with the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
AS/A-Level Programme
The Cambridge AS/A-Level qualifications being offered by the College are recognized world wide and the international examinations are offered in over 150 countries. This enables students to continue with their studies uninterrupted when relocating to other countries.
The focus of the college is to develop learners who have strong academic ability but who may have missed the opportunity to enter directly into the local Universities and College or waiting to enter these higher institutions of learning.
Students completing their Cambridge A Level studies in our centre may qualify to enter directly in our local universities and may be exempted from doing foundational courses required by most competitive universities.
Curriculum
For the AS/A-Level, the courses are grouped into 3 groups as follows:
Group 1: Mathematics & Sciences

(iii) Mathematics

(v) Applied ICT
(vi) Mechanics
Group 2: Business & Commercial Studies
(i) Economics
(ii) Accounting
(iii) Mathematics
(iv) Business Studies
(v) Computing
Group 3: Humanities & Social Sciences
(i) English Language
(ii) Literature in English
(iii) History
(iv) Law
(v) Geography
(vi) French
DURATION
Cambridge International A-Levels typically take 2 years to complete though they can be completed in 1 and half years depending on the ability of the student.
Sequencing and Maximum Load Per Session
Note that at CTS, in each session students are allowed to take up to a maximum of only 4 subjects for AS-Level and 2/3 subjects for A-Levels
The minimum number of subjects allowed per session are 3 for AS-Level and 2 for A-Level.
Cambridge International AS level programme is typically taken at the mid point of an A-level programme and is optional. AS –Level has half the value of credits of an A-Level.

INTAKES
At CTS –Pre-University College, there are two intakes in one year. The first is in January and the Second is in June. Prospecting students are advised to register a month or two earlier.
ELIGIBILITY
Students who have completed any of the following qualifications may apply:
(i). Grade 12 IGCSE with “C” and above Grades
(ii) GCE “O” Levels with “ C” and above Grades
(iii) Grade 12 Examination Council of Zambia with “C” and above Grades.
Students who have sat for exams and are waiting for the results can also submit their mock results for assessment and will be subjected to an entrance Test.
