 A well tested “Zambian” curriculum is followed at CTS Primary section that emphases the mastery of the “Three Rs”- reading, writing and arithmetic. Pupils cover the Zambia Primary Course in its entirety.
The primary curriculum at CTS incorporates subjects in 6 recommended Learning Areas namely:
1. Literacy and Langauages
2. Mathematics
3. Integrated Science
4. Creative & Technology Studies
5. Social and Development Studies
6. Community Studies
A sixth Learning Area, called Community Studies focuses on localized Curriculum to support the Ministry of Education requirement that 20% of the curriculum should be oriented towards issues of local community concerns.
TRAINING IN MORALITY
All pupils are exposed to a compulsory course in moral issues and cultural aspects of the Zambian situation. In this course pupils discover about acceptable conduct in their daily life both in and outside school; they learn about respect for elders, respect for other people and responsibility roles in different settings including home, work, school , church and among peers. |
